New approaches to care, clinical research advances, and the increasing focus on assistive technology are continually expanding the knowledge base required for professionals specializing in rehabilitation. To address these issues, MedStar National Rehabilitation Network has made a commitment to education and training of current and future rehabilitation professionals.
Over the years, MedStar NRH has offered thousands of clinical internships, in-service and continuing education programs, and conferences to physicians, rehabilitation nurses, therapists, case managers and other clinicians from the Hospital, the Washington metropolitan area, and across the nation. These opportunities have been available to people preparing for careers in rehabilitation as well as for those already practicing in their field of specialization.
Our successful Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Training Program prepares medical residents for both clinical and academic practice and is affiliated with the Georgetown University School of Medicine, the MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Children's National Medical Center, the National Institutes of Health Rehabilitation Medicine Department, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC). |
